The Australasia (AA) realm is a diverse region of Oceania, including Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, and numerous islands in the Pacific Ocean. It is known for its unique geography, rich cultural heritage, and complex ecosystems.

The Australian sub-realm is divided into seven bioregions, each with distinct environmental characteristics. The central bioregion features vast deserts, while the southern areas have coastal Mediterranean woodlands. To the north, tropical savannas, and the east has temperate grasslands and coastal forests extending to Tasmania.
The New Zealand sub-realm boasts diverse ecosystems, from dense forests to grasslands, supporting native wildlife and agriculture. The Australasian Islands & East Indonesia sub-realm includes Papua, Sulawesi, and other islands known for their unique biodiversity, including exotic birds and marine life. The region is crucial for ocean biodiversity, housing thousands of marine species and serving as a vital area for conservation and research.
